Agreement and product template status

These Terms of Use describe the CV Pilot / ResumeTailor MVP. They are a product template requiring counsel review, not legal advice, and not a jurisdiction-ready consumer contract. By using the service you agree to follow these terms as implemented product rules; counsel should adapt them before customer testing or launch.

Effective date: 2026-08-26. Last updated: 2026-08-31.

Service scope

The service helps you upload a .docx resume, supply a job posting (URL and/or pasted text), obtain AI-assisted structured resume tailoring suggestions and optional cover letters, review suggestions, download on-demand .docx files, and purchase integer credit packs for generation. Guests may prepare a resume and job input before sign-in; parsing, persistence, and credit-charged AI generation occur only after authentication and explicit Generate actions. Features labeled MVP may change, be limited, or be unavailable.

Accounts and eligibility

Authenticated features require a Clerk account. You are responsible for activity under your signed-in session. This template does not invent an age threshold or governing jurisdiction; counsel should supply those for launch.

User responsibilities

You must only upload resumes and provide job URLs or job description text that you have a lawful right to use. Do not submit others’ personal data without authorization, do not target systems you are not allowed to access, and do not use job URL fetch to attack or probe private networks. Content you submit must not be unlawful, infringing, or abusive.

No employment or accuracy guarantee

There is no guarantee of employment, interviews, ranking, or hiring outcomes. AI suggestions and cover letters may omit, overstate, or misstate facts. You remain responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying factual accuracy before using any download in a real application.

Prohibition on misuse

You may not misuse the service, including attempting to bypass credit checks, abuse rate limits, forge webhook or payment signals, scrape or overload the service, reverse engineer secrets, upload malware, or use the product to generate knowingly deceptive application materials.

Credit units and one-time purchases

Credits are integer units consumed by generation (2 units for CV generation; 1 unit for cover-letter generation), not a stored-value currency account beyond the in-product ledger. One-time credit packs may be purchased via Stripe Checkout when configured. Pack contents and display prices are defined server-side; payment card data is handled by Stripe.

Except where applicable law requires otherwise, this MVP template makes no promise of refunds for purchased credit packs, unused credits, or unsatisfactory AI output. Internal credit “refund” ledger entries restore reserved generation units when a generation attempt fails before finalize—they are not a promise of cash refunds from Stripe charges.

Availability and beta limitations

The service may be unavailable, slow, rate-limited, or partially featured during MVP/beta operation. Provider outages (Clerk, Neon, AI provider, Stripe, hosting/network) can interrupt use. No uptime SLA is offered in this template.

Intellectual property

You retain rights in the resume and job materials you supply, to the extent you hold them. The product does not implement an assignment of your content to the operator beyond what is needed to provide the service as coded. AI outputs are provided for your review inside the product; this template does not claim ownership of your materials and does not grant you rights in third-party models, Clerk, Stripe, or other vendor software beyond their applicable terms.

Termination and deletion

You may delete individual applications you own when generation is not provisional; private application content is removed as described in the Privacy Policy, while minimal credit and purchase audit records may remain. The operator may suspend or limit access for misuse, unpaid fraud risk, abuse-limit violations, or operational necessity. Whole-account deletion is not implemented in this application’s MVP code path.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability (counsel review required)

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW—and subject to counsel review for your launch jurisdiction—the service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability, or error-free AI output. Liability language in this MVP template is intentionally conservative and incomplete; qualified counsel must supply enforceable limitation, indemnity, and consumer-rights carve-outs appropriate to the launch jurisdiction. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes

These terms should be updated when product behavior changes. Continued use after posted updates constitutes acceptance of the revised product rules to the extent permitted by law—again subject to counsel review before relying on that mechanism at launch.
